Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of Uruguay international Edinson Cavani after Juventus entered the running to sign the striker.
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly open to selling the 28-year-old this summer as long as they make a profit on the £46.5m they paid Napoli for the hitman in 2013.
Arsenal and United have been heavily linked with Cavani, who has admitted in the past that he would welcome a move to England. According to Talksport, they may now face competition for the man that has scored 24 goals in 56 games for the French champions, with Serie A outfit Juventus keen to bring him in ahead of next season.
Louis Van Gaal is likely to be in the market for a striker with Falcao set to return to Monaco at the end of his season-long loan deal, and Cavani could be just the man to get United’s title push on course next season.
